Salary Range £9.20 per hour to £11.00 per hour

The successful candidate will be responsible for Children’s & Youth work within the church, practically developing a vision for the ministry at St Barnabas to implement activities and initiatives in partnership with leaders, helpers, outside agencies and the children & youth themselves.

Our church has been praying for a redevelopment of this ministry and has been growing a successful Messy Church, schools work and other children’s activities. Now, thanks to a generous one-off gift, we are seeking to transition this into youth ministry with our current youth and beyond. A focus is likely to be on the ages of 7-16 years old.

The candidate will be responsible for developing and growing youth discipleship groups within the church and helping children and young people to deepen their Christian faith.

The candidate will be responsible for developing new pioneering outreach with projects that will engage young people in an area of deprivation, potentially in partnership with other local Churches and agencies with whom we have close links.

The candidate will be responsible for ministry volunteers including recruitment, induction training and ongoing coaching with other’s support.

We are committed to safeguarding and the successful applicant will be required to undergo an enhanced DBS check.

In accordance with the equality act 2010 it is a genuine occupational requirement that the post holder is a practising Christian and we expect our job holder to share our values as a church.
