GIVING
The mission of St Barnabas Church to ‘Serve God in St Paul’s Cray’ has always been dependent on generous giving.
The mission began in 1950 using a tin builder’s hut in the middle of a developing housing estate and it was only the generous donations from local Christians and other churches in the Diocese of Rochester that finally saw our church building built and consecrated in 1964.
Today that mission of preaching God’s word, calling people to faith and to service in the local community is our responsibility. The upkeep of our church buildings and our support for the work of God’s people both locally and across the world now requires our generous giving.
Please consider supporting St Barnabas church by making a one-off donation or, better still, regular donations towards our work. This can be done in a number of ways, please choose the most convenient one for you.
If you pay Income Tax or Capital Gains tax in the UK tax, please consider declaring your donations for Gift Aid. This will allow us to claim back an extra 25p for every £1 donated through the Gift Aid scheme. Please complete a Gift Aid form which can downloaded here and return it to the Parish Office. You do not need to complete this form if you enter your details on our card reader.
Cash or Cheque
We no longer pass around an Offering Bag during the service, but have a clearly marked Donation Box by the door into the church to take cash or cheques.

Contactless card reader
You can make a contactless donation using your phone, credit or debit card on our card reader, also located by the church door.
The first time that you use the card reader it will ask if you wish to Gift Aid your donations and you can complete your contact details quickly and easily on the screen.
BACS Bank Transfer
If you would like to make an electronic transfer of money directly from your bank account to ours, please use the church bank account details listed below. Please include your first name and surname as a reference.
Standing Order
You can set up regular monthly payments from your bank account to St Barnabas church, either using your online banking or by contacting your bank. Please use the church bank account details listed below. If you set up or amend a Standing Order please email our Treasurer so that we can identify your donations and thank you.
