Community fridge
St Barnabas church is part of the Community Fridge project that is coordinated by Transform Bromley Borough and run through local church partnerships at several different locations across the Borough. It aims to reduce food waste by distributing tinned, dried goods, fresh food and produce that would otherwise be discarded by the shops and supermarkets that are part of the scheme.
The donations are collected weekly and distributed from a central hub to church partners across the borough for distribution to anyone who wishes to take advantage of the scheme. The quantity and selection of food available varies from week to week, depending on the donations, and it is distributed on a first-come-first-served basis. It is advisable to join the queue at least 30 minutes before the doors open.
The Community Fridge at St Barnabas is on Saturday mornings at 9:30 am.
The food is free and no referral is needed.
